Stansted FHR Park & Ride is a low-cost off-airport parking service using the I Love Park & Ride operation at Southgate, around 1.5 miles from the terminal. Drive to the car park, leave your keys and take the on-demand shuttle, which takes around three minutes. The site operates 24 hours a day and has Park Mark accreditation, security fencing, gated access and lighting.

FHR Park & Ride is essentially a differently branded way of booking the same underlying Southgate operation used by I Love Park & Ride. That means the practical parking experience is very similar, so the main things to compare are the final price, cancellation terms and any airport-access charges attached to the booking.

Important things to know

FHR Park & Ride operates from the I Love Park & Ride site at Southgate, Stansted Airport, CM24 1PY. You must leave your keys, and your vehicle may be moved between the operator’s three Park Mark car parks within the airport boundary. Transfers are on demand and take around three minutes. Return instructions are given when you check in, with collection currently from Zone C on the terminal forecourt. There is no stated height restriction. Follow signs from the motorway towards the mid-stay car park, using post code CM24 1PY in your Sat Nav. The car park is located next to Holiday Inn, just opposite MacDonald's and before the BP garage. Turn in to the Holiday Inn entrance and the entrance the car park is immediately on the right hand side. Please park in a customer parking space on the right hand side, then go to reception to check- in, before unloading your bags.

Arrival procedure

On arrival, please drive to the car park and catch their transfer bus to the terminal. You will be required to leave your keys.

Please know that cars may be moved between their 3 car parks.

Return procedure

Your return instructions will be provided to you at the car park office when you check in.

Please ensure you collect all your luggage and clear customs before calling the number on your confirmation (option 1) to be collected. Then make your way to the forecourt, just outside the terminal doors and wait in Zone C by the flag poles. Please remain on the same level as departures. They are unable to wait for more than 5 minutes so it is therefore essential you are ready to be collected, otherwise you may be liable for any excess fees they incur.

Security

The car park has 24 hour security including security fencing, gates and lighting. It holds Park Mark, Safer Parking Award.

The service is provided by I Love Park and Ride.

Transfers are charged at £7.50 per vehicle payable on arrival at the car park reception. This covers fees to the airport to be able to drop off and pick up off the terminal forecourt.

No height restriction.

You will be required to leave your keys and your car may be moved and stored in one of their Park Mark car parks, all located within the airport boundary.

Stansted FHR Return Meet

Bookings for this product include a return meet service, which means on return your car will be brought to your return terminal so you can drive straight home. Forecourt fees are included in the price.

On your return clear customs and when you are in the arrivals hall call the car park to have your car delivered. Please make your way to the forecourt, just outside the terminal doors and wait in Zone C by the flag poles to ensure a prompt delivery of your car. Please remain on the same level as departures.

Your car is unable to be on the forecourt for more than 10 minutes so it is essential that you are ready to collect your car on return and exit the forecourt within the 10 minute period as you are now required to pay the exit fee at the barrier of £4 by credit card or by cash for up to 10 mins.

Please note that £7.50 will be payable per vehicle to cover the airport forecourt fees.
