Overview

Newcastle International Long Stay Car Park is an official on-airport car park from which you can walk to the terminal in as little as 5-7 minutes.

If you have already done a price search then you might be confused (and justifiably) by the car park naming and prices: there are 2 types of both Long Stay and Short Stay (Long Stay/Long Stay Premium and, Short Stay 2/Short Stay 1) - as well as a Premium Fast Track.

Newcastle airport is small with all the official car parks onsite and walkable. Long Stay is the farthest and cheapest but still listed as only a 5-7 minute walk, while Long Stay Premium is opposite Short Stay 2, making it perhaps a 1-2 minutes quicker to the terminal - and a little bit more expensive.

Slightly nearer than Long Stay, Short Stay 2 and Long Stay Premium are situated opposite each other with no noticeable difference in distance to the terminal. As a result their prices should be very similar.

Short Stay 1 appears to be across from the terminal and closer than Short Stay 2, explaining its higher price relatively.

For those who need assistance transfers are on-demand.

Security

The car park has 24-hour CCTV, 24-hour security patrols, entry and exit barriers, a fence and floodlighting. It holds the Park Mark, a national security award for car parks which is accredited by the police.

Directions

The airport is 10 minutes from Newcastle city centre on the A696. Turn right at the roundabout into the airport complex (or left if you're coming along the A696 from the north), then take the first exit at the next roundabout and follow the signs for the long-term car park. If you're using a sat nav, the postcode is NE13 8BZ.

Arrival procedure

Please take a ticket at the entry barrier, then park your car and catch the bus to the terminal. Keep your ticket somewhere safe, as you'll need it when you come back.

Departure procedure

If you need the shuttle bus, it will collect you from the pick-up point outside the front of the terminal and take you back to the car park. When you return to the car park, simply get in your car and drive to the barrier, then put your ticket into the barrier and it will let you out.

If you have any problems, please press the help button on the machine to talk to a member of staff.

Insurance

Use of the car park are subject to the prevailing Terms and Conditions which are available at the car park.

Disabled facilities

There are extra-wide spaces for disabled customers in Zone A.

Additional information

The car park does not accept lorries or trailers.

If you're delayed coming back, you'll need to pay for the extra parking at the car park's normal rate, which will be more expensive than the price you pay when you book with us - at the moment extra days cost £7.50 per day.

If you come back early, unfortunately we can't give you a refund for the time you've not used.

Premium Long Stay

Premium Long Stay is the nearest of the long stay car parks to the terminals, reducing your walk-time by another minute or so.

Drive to the car park - driving directions and a postcode for your satnav will be on your booking confirmation. Take a ticket at the barrier, then follow signs to the Premium Long Stay area. Park in any space and keep your keys.

From there, it's only a short walk to the terminal, around 3-5 mins.

On your return, walk back to the car park and collect your car. Drive to the barrier, insert your ticket and drive home.

Arrived on rainy day, :( Unfortunately when you are on your own with a small child the bad weather makes things more difficult. Spaces between the white lines are very narrow so had to pull out into the middle of the rd to open the doors wide enough to remove the young one from his baby seat and put him in his buggie. Then I had to unload all the luggage onto the road before reversing the car back into its space. (While still pouring with rain). The nearest shelter was quite a distance to carry all the luggage and push the buggie. When I finally got to the shelter it was so small I couldn't gain access as it was over crowded, so stood in the rain with a few others with the little one and all the luggage. Next time will leave the car at the hotel and call a taxi regardless of the weather.

Many thanks to Sean in the parking office on Friday night for helping us find our car. We had forgotten to check which one we were in when parking the previous week. Thanks again for all your help!
