Birmingham Airport Valet Parking

Overview

Birmingham Airport Valet Parking is the airport's own premium Meet & Greet service, around a one-minute walk from the terminal. Drive directly to the Valet Parking car park, leave your car and keys with the airport parking team and walk to check-in while they park the vehicle for you in a secure on-site car park.

When you return, head back to the Valet Parking cabin, collect your keys and your vehicle will be waiting nearby. There is no shuttle bus and no off-airport storage site to travel to. If convenience is the priority, this is about as straightforward as Birmingham Airport parking gets.

How does Birmingham Airport Valet Parking work?

As you approach Birmingham Airport, follow the signs for Valet Parking. The Valet Car Park is located next to Car Park 3, underneath the Air-Rail Link running between Birmingham International station and the airport.

The car park uses Automatic Number Plate Recognition. If you have pre-booked and the registration number on your booking is correct, the entrance barrier should open automatically.

Park in the Valet Parking area and go to the Valet Parking cabin. Hand your keys to a member of staff, who will carry out a quick check of the vehicle before taking it to secure on-site parking. From there it is around a one-minute walk to the terminal.

When you return to Birmingham Airport, walk back to the Valet Parking cabin. The attendant will return your keys and show you where your vehicle is parked. Drive to the exit and the ANPR system should raise the barrier automatically.

That makes Car Park 1 the obvious comparison if you want almost exactly the same terminal convenience without handing your car over to somebody else. Valet Parking removes the need to find a bay; Car Park 1 lets you retain your keys. Compare the prices and decide how much that extra bit of convenience is worth.

How does Birmingham Airport Valet compare with Car Parks 2 & 3?

Birmingham Airport Car Parks 2 & 3 are also around a one-minute walk from the terminal. They are covered multi-storeys where you park yourself and keep your keys.

Again, the difference is not really terminal distance. Valet is about removing the parking part of the process altogether. If you are happy to find your own space, compare Car Parks 1, 2 and 3 before paying extra for Valet.

How does Birmingham Airport Valet compare with Platinum Valet?

Platinum Valet Meet and Greet also uses Birmingham Airport's Valet Parking area and gives you roughly the same short walk to the terminal.

The important difference is the underlying parking operation. Birmingham Airport Valet is the official airport service and keeps the vehicle in secure on-site airport parking. Platinum is an approved third-party Meet & Greet operator which takes the vehicle to its own secure parking facility. Compare the actual prices for your dates rather than assuming official parking will automatically be better value.

How does Birmingham Airport Valet compare with Maple Parking?

Maple Parking Meet and Greet offers much the same basic convenience: hand over your car close to the terminal and avoid a Park & Ride shuttle.

Maple takes the vehicle to its own secure off-airport parking facility, whereas Birmingham Airport Valet keeps it within the airport's parking operation. If that distinction matters to you, Valet has the advantage. If price matters more, compare both before booking.

Follow Birmingham Airport's signs for Valet Parking rather than relying solely on satellite navigation. The Valet Parking sign is beneath the Air-Rail Link near Car Park 3.

Make sure the registration number on your booking is correct because the entrance and exit barriers use ANPR. If the barrier does not open, use the assistance button rather than taking another ticket or making an additional payment.

There are three designated accessible bays beside the Valet Parking cabin. If you have also booked Assisted Travel, Birmingham Airport recommends arranging that assistance in advance.

Birmingham Airport currently restricts the Valet Car Park to customers using Valet Parking or approved Meet & Greet services. Additional charges can apply if you remain in the Valet area beyond the period covered by your booking.

Directions

Leave the M42 at junction 6 and proceed along the A45, following the signs to the airport. On arrival at the airport follow signs for Valet Parking. At the entry barrier, press for a ticket to gain entry, park your vehicle and then go to the Valet Parking Reception located in the Valet Parking Car Park, where a member of staff will meet you and check your vehicle in.

Arrival procedure

On arrival, please go to Valet Parking located next to car park 3, press for a ticket to gain entry and park in an available bay. Please make your way to the Valet Parking Reception located in the same car park, with your vehicle keys and our colleagues will complete some checks with you.

You will not require the ticket you have taken on entry, so you can dispose of it.

Return procedure

On your return, please call the car park on 0121 781 6680 as soon as you have disembarked the aircraft, so that they can ensure your vehicle is ready and waiting for you to collect. Please also let them know of any problems that may delay you collecting your vehicle.

When you exit the terminal building, please make your way to the Valet Parking car park and go to the Valet Parking Reception located in the same car park and they will hand your vehicle and keys back to you. They will provide you with a ticket to use at the exit barrier.

Security

Your car will be parked on airport in a Park Mark accredited car park. You will need to leave your keys.
