Holiday Extras Drop and Go

Holiday Extras Drop & Go is a staffed park-and-ride service with a two-minute shuttle transfer to Edinburgh Airport. Park outside the office, check in at the self-service kiosk and place your key in the secure drop box. Staff park the car while you take the included bus to the terminal.

The main advantage is avoiding the need to find a permanent space yourself while remaining very close to the airport. You must leave your keys, but the buses run every 10–15 minutes, 24 hours a day.

The parking experience is very similar, so compare the live price and booking conditions for your dates. Holiday Extras uses a self-service kiosk and key drop, while Secure Airparks checks the vehicle in using ANPR before you hand over the keys.

How does Holiday Extras Drop & Go compare with Secure Airparks Self Park?

Both are close to the airport and provide 24-hour shuttle transfers. Holiday Extras staff park the vehicle and retain your keys, while Secure Airparks Self Park allows you to choose a space and keep them.

Choose Holiday Extras Drop & Go if you would rather not find a parking space. Choose Secure Airparks Self Park if you want the car to remain where you left it and prefer buses running approximately every 5–10 minutes.

How does Holiday Extras Drop & Go compare with FastPark?

Both require you to leave your keys and staff handle the parking. Holiday Extras uses a two-minute shuttle, while Edinburgh Airport FastPark is approximately a one-minute walk from the terminal and does not require a bus.

Holiday Extras Drop & Go will usually be the better-value choice. FastPark is more convenient when avoiding a shuttle justifies the additional cost.

Important things to know

You must leave your keys and the car may be moved within the secured compound. Standard cars are accepted if they fit within a 2.4 by 4.8-metre bay; trailers and commercial vehicles are not permitted. On your return, take the shuttle from the same coach park used for drop-off. Returning after the booked period may result in an additional daily charge.

Arrival procedure

When you arrive, park your car outside the Drop & Go office. Then head inside to check in using the self-service kiosk and pop your key in the drop box. Once that's done, head to the bus stop to take the 24-hour shuttle to the airport – it's included in the price, takes 2 minutes and runs every 10 to 15 minutes.

When you get back the shuttle bus will pick you up from the coach park and take you back to the car park. Pick up your keys and head home.

Return procedure

When you return, catch the shuttle bus back to the car park from where it dropped you off.

Back at the car park you'll be given your keys and pointed towards your car, which will be parked nearby.

Your car's in safe hands. We only work with trusted car parks that take care of your car like it's their own. While your car's with them, it's fully protected – so you can head off without a second thought.

The car park has accessible shuttle buses and accessible parking bays.

There's ramp access to reception and accessible toilets too.

Additional information

Early or late? If you return late you'll be charged the car park's standard rate of £10 a day. This is subject to change.

Most standard cars (without trailers/not commercial vehicles) will be accepted at the car park as long as they fit in a standard-size parking bay (2.4m x 4.8m).
