Edinburgh Low Cost Parking

Edinburgh Low Cost Airport Parking is a 24-hour off-airport park and ride with shuttle buses running every 20 minutes and taking approximately 5–10 minutes to Edinburgh Airport. Park outside reception, check in and leave your keys. Staff park the car while you take the included bus to the terminal.

The main advantage is a straightforward staffed service that operates throughout the day and night. However, you cannot keep your keys and the 20-minute bus interval is less frequent than some Edinburgh alternatives.

How does Low Cost compare with Secure Airparks?

Both provide 24-hour off-airport parking with a free shuttle. Low Cost requires you to leave your keys, while Secure Airparks offers a choice between self-parking and keeping your keys or using its Drop & Go service.

Choose Low Cost if it provides the better price and you are happy for staff to park the car. Choose Secure Airparks if keeping your keys, booking an electric charging bay or accommodating a larger vehicle is more important.

How does Low Cost compare with Plane Parking?

Low Cost is an independent staffed car park with a 5–10-minute transfer every 20 minutes. Plane Parking is Edinburgh Airport’s official budget car park, where you park the vehicle yourself, keep your keys and take a bus that takes around ten minutes and runs approximately every 18 minutes.

Choose Low Cost if you prefer staff to park the car and it is cheaper for your dates. Choose Plane Parking if official airport parking, keeping your keys or access to electric charging points justifies the price difference.

Important things to know

Arrive at least 30 minutes before your earliest recommended check-in time and take your booking confirmation with you. You must leave your keys and retain the receipt issued by reception. On your return, contact the car park and go to stand 7 for collection. The shuttle buses are not wheelchair accessible. Vehicles must be under three metres high and fit within a standard 2.4 by 4.8-metre parking bay.

Directions

Please be aware that satellite navigation systems are not guaranteed to take you directly to the car park so please use the directions provided below. The providers cannot be held responsible if you fail to locate the car park or are delayed.

Leave the M9 at junction 1, taking the Newbridge exit at the roundabout, signposted for the B7030. Take the first left onto Cliftonhall Road passing McDonalds. Take another left onto Harvest Road. Pass under the bridge and take one more left onto Harvest Drive, entering Ratho Industrial Estate. Follow the road round and take the first left onto Queen Anne Drive. Pass the Newbridge bond and you will find the car park straight ahead.

Arrival procedure

Please see your confirmation email for details.

On arrival please park in one of the bays outside reception and head inside to check in. You'll be asked to show your confirmation and hand in your keys. Staff will give you a receipt and you car will be parked for you. There's a free transfer bus to the terminal.

Please arrive at the car park at least 30 minutes before your earliest recommended check-in time.

Return procedure

Please see your confirmation email for details.

On return, please call the car park so they can send the shuttle bus to pick you up (you can call them on 0131 335 3868 or use the courtesy phones in the arrivals hall by the front doors), then make your way to stand 7 for the bus.

Please show the receipt you were given at the car park to the bus driver when the bus arrives and they will take you back to the reception where your car will be waiting. Check out at reception and you'll be given back your keys along with a PIN to open the exit barrier.

Security

While you're away, your car will be stored in a secured compound surrounded by an electric fence. Floodlighting and CCTV are in use and you need to enter a security code to exit the car park.

Disabled facilities

The car park staff can assist disabled passengers. Please call the provider and one of their team will contact the car park to make the arrangements for you.

Please note the transfer buses are not accessible by wheelchairs.

Additional information

You will need to take a copy of your confirmation with you to the car park and leave your keys there.

The car park can take any standard vehicle as long as they fit under the 3m barrier and fit in a standard-size parking bay (2.4m x 4.8m), if you are looking to park a bigger vehicle please call the car park to confirm whether it can be accommodated.

If you are earlier or later than the time on your booking, the car park does offer a discretionary grace period up until 2am the following day. Beyond this, the car park will charge a standard rate of £10 per day (subject to change).
