Automatic Number Plate Recognition technology is in operation so customers should ensure that they give the correct details when booking. Large vehicles such as motor homes and caravans are not allowed to park here.

Leave the M1 at junction 24 from the North, following Ashby Road, or junction 23A from the South. At the roundabout, take the exit for Ashby Road, continue straight over the mini-roundabout, then take a right signposted for the Thistle hotel. Take the first exit, left at the roundabout and follow Viscount Road straight over another roundabout. You will find the car park on the right just before the end of the road.

Arrival procedure

We operate an Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) system so it is essential you have entered the correct vehicle registration when making your booking.

We recommend that you bring a copy of your confirmation with you.

On arrival, please drive up to the entry barrier and your car registration will be read. A ticket will be automatically issued to you. Make your way to any available space and park your car. Keep this ticket safe as it will be needed on your return.

If a ticket is not automatically dispensed, please press the “Assistance” button and explain to the operator that your vehicle has not been recognised. Please confirm your booking details, including your car registration. A ticket will then be issued. Keep this ticket safe as it will be needed on your return.

Upon your return to the airport, proceed to your car and drive to the exit barrier. Please insert your ticket to leave and the barrier should raise automatically.

If the barrier does not raise and/or asks for payment, please press the intercom button for assistance and quote your pre-booking reference number.

Security

Long Stay Car Park 3 is protected by 24-hour CCTV, entry and exit barriers and a fence, and is lit at night. Security guards patrol the car park every hour, 24 hours a day. The car park has been awarded the Park Mark, a security award for car parks which is accredited by the police.

The Airport is insured for damage caused by their own negligence but will not normally accept responsibility for the acts of a third party. Full details are available from the car park on request.

Additional information

Due to the building of a carriageway, the M1 junction closest to the airport and the A453 will be closed between 20:00 and 06:00. An 11-mile diversion will be in place and will be signposted, however anyone using the route should allow an extra half hour for their journey.

No motor homes, lorries, trailers or caravans are permitted even if multiple spaces are booked.

This car park is a self-park facility where you park your own vehicle and retain your keys.

"We parked in No, 3 car park there doesn't appear to be a bus service from this area so we had to walk .
Although it said it was a 5min walk to the terminal it is not very pleasant when it's raining and pulling cases along a path that is in a very poor state of repair.
Very disappointing!!!!"

"Number recognition did not work (DO NOT press for a ticket), however spoke to staff via intercom to gain entry and exit (just had to quote booking reference number on way out). Plenty of parking spaces, 5 min walk to terminal."
