Bristol Oakwood Parking
“ Excellent service and cheap - van waiting for us when we dropped our car off and at the airport within 3 minutes.” - Mr A L Turton
Bristol Oakwood Parking is an independent off-airport park-and-ride with a free, on-demand shuttle taking only a few minutes to reach the terminal. Check in at reception, leave your car keys and take the minibus to the airport. On your return, call after collecting your luggage and Oakwood will send a vehicle to collect you.
Oakwood is usually cheaper than Bristol Airport’s official Silver Zone and has a shorter transfer. However, customers should be aware that their car may be moved to an overflow compound up to four miles from the reception site.
Why choose Oakwood Parking?
- Short transfer: the car park is approximately half a mile from Bristol Airport.
- On-demand shuttle: transfers are requested when needed rather than following a fixed timetable.
- Competitive pricing: Oakwood is often one of Bristol Airport’s cheaper parking options.
- Open around the clock: transfers operate throughout the day and night, apart from the stated Christmas closure.
- Car parked for you: leave your keys at reception and the team manages the vehicle’s storage.
- Security measures: the parking areas have CCTV, perimeter fencing and 24-hour patrols.
How does Oakwood compare with Silver Zone?
Both require you to leave your keys and provide free transfers around the clock. Oakwood’s on-demand shuttle takes only a few minutes, while Silver Zone buses take around seven minutes and run every 15 minutes.
Oakwood will often be cheaper and quicker. Silver Zone is operated by Bristol Airport and guarantees that the vehicle remains within its official on-site car park, whereas Oakwood may move it to an overflow compound up to four miles away.
How does Oakwood compare with Bristol Airport Mid Stay?
Oakwood requires a key handover and shuttle journey. Mid Stay is an official self-parking option where you keep your keys and walk approximately 8–12 minutes to the terminal.
Choose Oakwood when price and a short minibus journey are the priorities. Choose Mid Stay if you want the car to remain where you parked it and would rather walk than wait for a transfer.
How does Oakwood compare with Sky Park Bristol Park & Ride?
Both are independent off-airport services where you leave your keys and use an on-demand shuttle. Oakwood is much closer, while the journey from Sky Park takes around 10 minutes and its return service may take up to 30 minutes after your collection call.
Oakwood is the stronger option for transfer speed. Sky Park is worth considering when it offers a lower live price or its location near Chew Stoke is more convenient for your driving route.
Important things to know
Your car may be moved to a secure overflow compound up to four miles away, so remove valuables and any house keys before checking in. Long vehicles and motorhomes are not accepted. Passengers carrying bicycles, golf clubs, surfboards or similarly bulky equipment should drop these at the airport before parking. Oakwood closes from 4pm on Christmas Eve until 4am on Boxing Day.
Comparison
If you haven't already checked pricing, Oakwood Parking is usually a little cheaper than the Official Silver Zone Park & Ride.
Both car parks are open 24/7 and have free shuttle buses and security - and you have to leave your keys.
In addition, they both say your car will be moved after check-in, with Oakwood says that your car will be moved to a secure compound no more than 4 miles away and Silver Zone to a designated parking area.

A very efficient service, especially with it being so close to the airport. It's was by far the cheapest available parking option. My only criticism is that the inside of the car was muddy afterwards. I understand mud getting on the floor mats but it was on the passenger seat and by the inside passenger door handle somehow, however I would definitely use them again.
