Found out EasyJet had cancelled our flight after arriving at the airport and parking the car in car park 3 as per booking.
EasyJet found an alternative flight but a week later.
Collected the car, went through the barrier and then home.
After making enquires as regards the £96.00 cost of parking at the airport, I was informed that as I had gone through the barriers, the car park system would have marked the booking as used and charged for the space regardless of whether the space was used for the full duration or not.
EasyJet now say they don't have to reimburse parking costs under EU Regulations.
So the result of parking at Southend Airport for two hours cost me £96.00 due to circumstances beyond my control.
This seems totally unfair."
