Southend SACP Car Park
“ Very impressed, very good personal efficient service. Would use again most definitely.” - Mr K Fleming
Southend SACP is a straightforward off-airport option with a shuttle taking around five minutes. Drive to reception, leave your car and keys, then take the included minibus to the terminal while staff park the vehicle for you.
Transfers generally run every 10–15 minutes from 4am until the final flight has landed. SACP is often among Southend’s cheaper choices, although the official airport car parks are close enough to walk, so price is the main reason to choose it.
Why choose SACP Park & Ride?
- Five-minute transfer: the car park is only around 1.4 miles from the terminal.
- Frequent shuttle: minibuses operate throughout the airport’s flying day.
- Staff park your car: leave it in the arrivals lane rather than finding a bay.
- Strong customer reviews: SACP is one of Southend’s most frequently reviewed independent options.
- Secure site: CCTV, fencing, 24-hour staff and the Park Mark award.
How does SACP compare with reviewed independent options.
Standard Parking, formerly Long Stay, is an official airport car park around a 3–5 minute walk from the terminal. You park yourself and keep your keys. SACP requires a five-minute shuttle and you normally leave your keys.
Choose SACP when it offers a worthwhile saving or you would rather take the minibus than walk with luggage. Choose Standard when the prices are close, as walking directly to your car is the simpler arrangement.
How does SACP compare with Purple Parking?
Purple Parking Park & Ride currently operates from the same SACP site in Millhead Way, with a similar five-minute shuttle and key-handover arrangement. There is therefore little practical difference between them.
Compare the final price and cancellation terms rather than the transfer time—the signs may be different, but the journey is not.
Important things to know
The standard SACP product requires you to leave your key. A separate self-park rate may also be offered, so check the exact product selected. On your return, reach the designated airport pickup point before calling for the shuttle.
Only three accessible spaces are available and the minibus is not wheelchair accessible. Standard vehicles must fit within a 2.4m by 4.8m bay, vehicles with eight or more seats are not accepted and long-wheelbase vehicles may be charged extra.
Directions
Leave the M25 at junction 29, heading towards Southend/Basildon A127. At the Tesco's roundabout take the third exit onto Princes Avenue, signposted towards Southend. At the next roundabout turn left into Manners Way. At the next roundabout take the fourth exit onto Southend Road. Turn right onto Sutton Road at the next roundabout. Turn left onto Purdey's Way at the next roundabout. Take the second road on the right, onto Rochehall Way. Take the first road on the left into Millhead Way. Drive to the end of the road and turn left where you'll see the entrance to the SACP car park. Follow the signs into the car park and one of the car park attendants will be there to meet you.
Arrival procedure
When you arrive at SACP, please park in an arrivals lane and head to reception to check in. Then show the team a copy of your booking confirmation and leave your keys. A member of staff will process the necessary paperwork and then help you with your luggage onto the mini-bus.
Return procedure
On your return, please exit the arrivals doors once you have your luggage and make your way to the Short Stay car park (opposite the terminal building). Once there, wait in the middle where the luggage trolleys are and then give the car park a call on 01702 567849. When you get back to the car park, your car will be waiting for you outside reception so you can pick up your keys from reception, get in your car and drive home.
Please do not phone the car park until you get to Short Stay as each pick-up bus is only allowed 5 minutes to pick passengers up and then cannot re-enter the pick up zone for 15 minutes meaning you will have to wait longer for a bus.
Security
The car park has CCTV, fencing and is manned 24 hours a day. It has been awarded the Park Mark award for security.
Disabled facilities
The car park has only three disabled spaces available so please call the car park to request one. Unfortunately, the shuttle bus is not wheelchair accessible.

Please know that you will need to leave your keys at this car park.
The car park offers a grace period of up to midnight on the date you have booked to collect your car. If you go into the next day, you'll be charged the standard rate of £10 per day (subject to change).

The car park cannot accept vehicles with 8 or more seats. If you're bringing a long wheel based vehicle, you'll be required to pay an additional supplement on arrival at the car park which equals half of the total cost of the booking.

How the workflow is managed:
According to the car park, customers will never have to wait more than 5 minutes on either leg of their journey. Their mini buses run on demand and the car park makes sure they have enough staff working to deal with each customer quickly but efficiently.
