APH Gatwick

APH Gatwick is an off-airport park-and-ride service where staff park your car while you take a free shuttle to either terminal. Leave your keys at reception and allow approximately 10–12 minutes for the transfer, with buses running every 10–15 minutes around the clock.

This is a convenient choice if you do not want to search for a space or remember where you parked. The trade-off is that your car may be moved while you are away and you must use the shuttle in both directions.

Choose APH if you prefer a quick reception handover. Choose Airparks Self Park if keeping your keys and knowing the car will remain where you parked it matters more.

How does APH Gatwick compare with Purple Parking?

Both are off-airport park-and-ride services where you leave your keys and staff park the vehicle. Purple Parking’s transfer takes around 10 minutes but runs every 20 minutes, compared with APH’s 10–12-minute journey and 10–15-minute frequency.

The overall experience is similar, so compare prices for your dates. APH has the advantage when the more frequent published shuttle timetable is important.

How does APH Gatwick compare with Official Long Stay?

Official Long Stay is located on the airport and allows you to park the car yourself and keep your keys. Its transfer takes approximately 5–10 minutes for the South Terminal and 10–12 minutes for the North Terminal, with separate car parks serving each terminal.

Choose Official Long Stay if you want the car to remain where you parked it. Choose APH if you prefer staff to park for you and want one location that serves either terminal.

Important things to know

Vehicles must fit within a standard bay, be no higher than 2.4 metres and be driveable on a standard UK licence; trailers are not accepted. Bikes, surfboards and similarly large items cannot be carried on the shuttle, although skis and snowboards are allowed. Tell APH in advance if the vehicle has a ghost immobiliser because a self-parking upgrade may be required. During busy periods, vehicles may be transferred to APH’s secondary secure site. Saver bookings cannot be amended or refunded, so check the conditions of the rate selected.

Directions

From the M23:
Leave at Junction 10 (East Grinstead). If southbound, take the 1st exit on the roundabout (A264 - Copthorne Way). If northbound, take the 3rd exit on the roundabout (A264 - Copthorne Way). At the next roundabout take the 4th exit (A2220) signposted Maidenbower. Continue on the A2220 following signs to Airport Parking Centre. After 0.5 miles turn right into Wyevale Garden Centre. You'll see an APH entrance sign. Follow APH signs to the car park check-in area.

Please note that entering the postcode on sat-nav might not take you directly to the car park entrance. Once on the A2220 (Copthorne Road), please continue driving 0.5 miles until you see Wyevale Garden Centre and the APH entrance sign on your right.

Transfer times

Courtesy coaches run every 10-15 minutes and the journey takes approx. 10 minutes to South Terminal and 12 minutes to North Terminal (depending on traffic conditions).

Arrival procedure

Arriving at APH Gatwick Park and Ride couldn’t be easier:

1. Drive through the automated barrier and follow road markings to the arrival bays.
2. A fully trained valet driver will then park your car as you check in at reception.
3. Hop on the comfortable transfer bus and complete the short journey to the airport.

Always confirm instructions with your booking confirmation and please ensure you allow sufficient time to complete your vehicle check-in and airport transfer.

Upon arrival, head for the dedicated bus stop outside the terminal and take the bus to the APH car park.
Collect your keys and pick up your car.
In the event of any problems, one of the car park’s 24-hour staff will be pleased to assist.

Security

Park Mark award car park. By choosing a Park Mark Safer Parking facility you are visiting a car park that has been vetted by the Police and has measures in place in order to create a safer environment for both you and your vehicle.

We strongly recommend you arrive at the car park at least 30 minutes before your stated airline check-in time.

APH will accept any vehicle that can fit into a standard parking bay and can be driven on a standard driving license.

APH are unable to transport bikes, surf/windsurfing boards or items of a similar size on their transfer coaches. Snowboards/skis are acceptable.

Please be aware that satellite navigation systems are not guaranteed to take you directly to the car park, please use the directions provided below. We cannot be held responsible if you fail to locate the car park or are delayed.

Book your Gatwick Airport parking at APH Park & Ride with EV Charging and we’ll charge your car up for you when you arrive, leaving you free to head straight to the terminal for check-in. Your car must arrive at the car park with at least 5% vehicle charge and you must supply your own charging lead.

30kW: Best for smaller batteries or a partial charge for larger vehicles.

60kW: Best for larger batteries.

When you return from your travels, your vehicle will have been charged and be ready for your journey home.
