Official On-Site Parking is London City Airport’s standard self-parking option, around a two-minute walk from check-in. Find your own space, keep your keys and walk straight to the terminal without waiting for a shuttle.

Previously called Long Stay, it is remarkably close for a car park with that history. It suits travellers who want official airport parking without paying extra for Premium or Valet.

Why choose Official On-Site Parking?

  • Two-minute walk: the terminal is only a short stroll away.
  • Keep your keys: your car remains in the space you choose.
  • No shuttle: walk directly to check-in.
  • Official airport parking: located within London City Airport.
  • ANPR entry: the barrier recognises the registration entered when booking.
  • Secure site: CCTV, barriers, fencing and regular patrols.

How does On-Site Parking compare with Premium Parking?

Both are official self-parking options where you keep your keys. Premium provides spaces closer to the terminal, while standard On-Site Parking is around a two-minute walk and will normally be cheaper.

Choose Premium when shaving another minute from the walk matters. Otherwise, On-Site Parking provides almost the same convenience without paying for a particularly expensive minute.

How does On-Site Parking compare with Valet Parking?

Valet Parking is less than a minute from check-in and airport staff park the car for you. With On-Site Parking, you find your own bay and keep your keys.

Choose Valet for the quickest and easiest handover. Choose On-Site Parking when you prefer the car to remain where you parked it and want to pay less.

Important things to know

Blue Badge spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Motorhomes, caravans, lorries and trailers are not accepted. Enter the correct registration when booking and do not use a payment card at the barrier, as you could be charged again.

Directions

Leave the M25 at junction 30 and take the A13 heading into London. After crossing the bridge, take the left lane to leave the road following signs for the airport and docks. Take the first exit from the roundabout onto the A1020 Royal Docks Road, staying in the middle lane. At the next roundabout, take the second exit towards Woolwich Manor Way. Follow the road and, when you see the Docklands Light Railway overhead, take a right onto Hartmann Road, signposted for the airport. From here you can follow signs for the Official On-site car park.

Arrival procedure

At the entrance to the car park, the barrier will recognise your number plate and lift. If you have any problems or the barrier does not lift, press the button to speak to car park staff and give them your booking reference. Then park, keep your keys and take a short walk to the terminal.

Departure procedure

On your return, please walk back to the car park and collect your car. Then drive up to the barrier and wait for it to lift. If it does not lift or you have any problems, please press the assistance button to speak to a member of the car park's team.

Please do not use your credit or debit card to open the barrier as you will be charged again.

Security

The car park is staffed 24 hours a day and frequently patrolled. It's also protected by CCTV, entry and exit barriers and a fence.

Disabled facilities

Specially designated spaces are available for disabled drivers.

Easy access (walking) to the airport terminal. A little pricy for 5 days parking, but I guess that's London for you.

Registration not recognised on arrival, leading to me getting flustered as holding up a queue and ending up in the short term park. I was able to drive through to the long term and then worried about getting out again. In the end it was quite straightforward as the help line adviser quickly identified my booking and let me out. The problems were mainly of my doing except that the car was not recognised on arrival. Hence only rates a 4!39142
