Purple Parking Express Aberdeen is a self-parking car park around a five-minute walk from Aberdeen Airport. Park in an available bay, keep your keys and walk directly to the terminal. There is no shuttle or key handover.

It uses the International Gate car park and offers much the same convenience as on-airport parking, often at a lower price.

Why choose Purple Parking Express?

  • Five-minute walk: no transfer bus required.
  • Keep your keys: your car remains where you parked it.
  • ANPR entry: the barrier scans the registration entered when booking.
  • Secure site: CCTV, fencing, floodlighting, barriers and staff patrols.
  • Accessible bays: with dipped kerbs and ramps near reception.

How does it compare with Aberdeen Long Stay?

Both are self-parking options where you keep your keys. Purple Parking Express is a five-minute walk from the terminal, while official Long Stay uses a free on-demand shuttle taking less than five minutes.

Choose Purple Parking Express if you prefer walking straight to check-in. Choose Long Stay when it is cheaper or the shuttle is more convenient.

Is it different from Airparks Express?

Purple Parking Express, Airparks Express, APH Express and Holiday Extras Express are differently branded rates using the same International Gate parking operation.

The parking arrangements are essentially identical, so compare the live price and cancellation terms rather than the name attached to the booking.

Important things to know

Standard vehicles must fit within a 2.4m by 4.8m bay. Trailers, commercial vehicles and vehicles with nine or more seats are not accepted. Keep any ticket or barcode issued when you arrive, as it may be required at the exit.

Arrival procedure

When you get to the car park, drive up to the barrier. It will recognise your car reg and lift to let you in.

Park in an available bay and make a note of where. There are coloured zones to help you remember. It's best to park nose first in the bay for easy access to your boot and luggage. Keep your keys and make your way to the airport – it's a 5-minute walk.

Return procedure

When you get back, find your car and drive to the exit. The barrier will recognise your car reg and lift, allowing you to exit.

Additional information

Most standard cars (without trailers/not commercial vehicles/fewer than 9 seats) will be accepted at the car park as long as they fit in a standard-size parking bay (2.4m x 4.8m).

There are slightly longer bays towards the back of the car park for larger vehicles like 4x4 or vans.
