Long Stay Parking at Gatwick

There are a number of different parking options available at London Gatwick as you can see from the list above. You can park on or off the airport, or for convenience, opt for the Meet and Greet chauffeur option. Of course, most car parks also offer free airport transfers.

The main off-airport car parks for Gatwick parking are the APH and BCP compounds, based about 10 minutes from the airport. These are both privately owned by the providers and have a large number of spaces available. These off-airport car parks generally tend to be more appropriately used as a long stay car park but are equally popular for short breaks, with the minimum stay at Gatwick APH being only 3 days in the winter period when fewer people are going on holiday.

On-airport Parking at Gatwick

There is a range of options if you wish to park at Gatwick for both the North or South terminals. The Gatwick Long Stay North parking will probably be most useful if you want an on-airport Gatwick car park which is near to the terminal building, meaning the transfer time is minimal. Alternatively, you can use the Summer Special car park situated a little further away from the North terminal. If flying from Gatwick South terminal, the best option will be Gatwick Long Stay South. Situated on-airport, the car park is ideal for shorter transfer times to the terminal.

Parking at Gatwick Airport is easy, and all on-airport car parks are easily accessible from Junction 9a on the M23.

Gatwick Airport off-site parking

You can usually get a great deal on off-airport parking. This just means that you have to allow slightly more time to get to the airport as you will normally have to take a shuttle bus from the car park to the terminal. Depending on the car park, these are often very regular (or even on-demand) and do not take very long at all. Some off-airport car parks operating at Gatwick and available for comparison on this website are part of the airport’s Approved Off-Airport Parking Scheme. This means they have adhered to both the Buy with Confidence and the ParkMark approval processes. Some of these operators also run Meet % Greet schemes.

Approved Off-Airport Car Parks at Gatwick are:
  • APH Car Parks
  • Cophall Parking
  • Maple Manor
  • Sure Parking
  • Tudor Rose Meet & Greet
  • Ace Meet & Greet.
Popular off-airport car parks (Park and Ride) at Gatwick are:
  1. APH Gatwick Park and Ride
  2. Gatwick Tudor Rose Park and Ride
  3. Cophall Parking

Gatwick Short Stay Car Parks

London Gatwick has excellent short stay car parking facilities at both North and South terminals. You don't have to pre-book this sort of parking, and the parks are located close enough for the travellers to walk to the terminals. Perfect for a drop-off or collection of your family members and friends.

Hotels With Parking

There are also a range of hotels that allow for you to park on-site. However, these tend to be short-term and for in-bound travellers, rather than those going abroad. For a range of Gatwick Airport Hotels, we recommend visiting the official Gatwick Hotels page on their site.

Meet and Greet Parking at Gatwick Airport

Find the cheapest meet and greet parking at Gatwick by running a quote or browsing the table above. Meet and Greet means you are met at the terminal by a representative from the parking company and they will park your car for you, then drop it off back to you on your return. This ensures a swift exit from the airport, not having to wait for the transfer bus.

Getting to or from Gatwick Airport

For passenger convenience, there is a free inter-terminal transit shuttle service which operates 24 hours a day. They usually run every 15 minutes and take 2 minutes so you can easily move between the terminals at any time of the day. The train station is integrated into the Gatwick Airport building (South Terminal) so there’s no need to transfer. Head for the escalator or a lift to get straight to first floor, and if you require North Terminal, follow the signs to North Terminal and take the transit shuttle. The Gatwick Airport Guide contains tonnes of useful information about the airport, head over to their site if you are planning on flying from Gatwick anytime soon.

About Gatwick Airport

Gatwick Airport, also known as London Gatwick, is conveniently situated just a few miles north of Crawley in West Sussex, UK. Considered London's second-largest international airport, Gatwick is an efficient single-runway airport that in 2016, transported 43.1 million passengers to more destinations across the world than any other UK airport. (2017 statistic)

Gatwick Airport has two terminals - North and South - and takes pride in its partnership with easyJet, an airline that flies approximately 37% of the total number of passengers at Gatwick. EasyJet's most important base is at Gatwick Airport, whilst the second-largest carrier is British Airways, accounting for nearly 14% of passenger traffic.

In operation for over 80 years, London Gatwick Airport grew from just a small enthusiast flying club to UK's second-largest international airport. Gatwick has always been ahead of its time. The first innovation was a direct link for passengers between the airport and the nearby rail station; twenty years later its second innovation was to build a covered pier from the terminal to aircraft stands, which became a standard feature of airport design.

London Gatwick Airport has received many awards over the years. Most recently these included;

  • Carbon Trust Standards Triple Certification in 2016
  • Investors in People, Gold Standard in 2016
  • Best UK Airport by the Business Travel Awards in 2014
  • Airport of the year at National Transport Awards in 2013.

Gatwick Airport also has a range of airport lounges that you can choose from. These range from the prestigious No1 Lounge to the more affordable “My Lounge”. Whichever you choose, you’ll definitely be refreshed for your flight.

Straightforward drop of and pick up, just one minor point is that if you are expecting your car to be there within the quoted 15/20 minute time frame at 0200 am in the morning you may need patience because if four parties request there vehicles and they only have three delivery drivers and you were the last to call for your vehicle it will be an half hour wait at best
