"Booking was quick and easy but the barrier didn't go up either on entry or exit. We had to press for a ticket to get in and had to call for assiatance to get out. "Long-stay car-parking not fully signed on the way into the airport.
Long-stay 2 easy to enter and very convenient for the terminal.
On exit the terminal didn't open automatically but a call using the button on the pedestal by the gate had the gate open quickly."

"It would have been excellent apart from the fact that the camera on entry misread the registration plate. It showed "Y12NVA" instead of "SY12NVA".
As a result on trying to leave the carpark I was requested to pay £435.00!! I queried this with the operator (through the intercom) and was released without further payment being taken.
I have been to similar carparks in the past and never had a problem."

"Arrival was satisfactory; number plate recognition worked well; ticket was dispensed promptly.
Departure was appalling! Only one departure lane was in use and there was a queue of vehicles having difficulty leaving. My ticket, together with most other drivers, was rejected by the only working ticket machine and, after speaking to a distant operator, I had to walk 200 metres in the rain to a 'pay here machine' where I inserted my ticket; its was ejected with a message saying, "Thank You, Drive Safely". When I returned to the barrier (and another 10 minute wait in the queue) the ticket was again rejected. I again had to use the machine's call button and speak to the operator who was opening the barrier manually for some drivers. As I waited for the operator, the barrier opened and I left. The problem appeared to be a breakdown in the online booking software at the airport - indeed one driver who had booked and pre-paid online was asked for £75 every time he inserted his ticket!
I have used BCP parking at Gatwick many times, and once before at Southend, without any problems. I was very disappointed with the service at Southend Airport on this occasion."
