"The experience if you can call it that was ok. A car park is a car park. I might add though one of the most expensive in the UK.. compared to Gatwick, Heathrow, East Mid, Birmingham and not forgetting Stanstead. It also has one of the longest waiting times apart from maybe Gatwick for one of your coaches, for the long term car parks."September 4, 2007
"Very good value for money if you pre book in advance. Easy instructions. Car Park well patrolled & lit. Felt safe. Prompt bus shuttles to & from the off site car park. Ease of ticket validation at desk on return was excellent. Would definitely book again."September 4, 2007
"The best parking experience I have had at a British airport!
The buses were frequent, the journey to the terminal is not too long and the car was exactly as I had left it when I got back a week later!
Getting my ticket validated at the terminal before going to the car park was easy and quick."
"Everything worked fine - easily located, buses were timely and not over-crowded. Car parking areas were mostly loose rubble which made trundling cases difficult, and a lot of stones had been spread across the roadways by vehicle movements on and off the rubble."September 3, 2007
"Only problem was leaving the car park on return. There were no signs showing the exit and it took us a while to get out."September 2, 2007
"I found the Luton Long Term Car park very convenient to use. Easy to find, well sign posted from the motorway. Good connection on transfer bus and nice polite driver.
Only comment: At Stanstead airport parking signs on entering the car park tell customers in which zone car parks are free. This would have helped in Luton because we had to drive up and down lanes to find a free space.
Inconsiderate customers had also parked their cars outside marked bays in short cuts through to exit. Clearer markings of bays might help here.
Otherwise parking in and flying from Luton was a much better experience then some of the big airports in London.
"very easy & plenty of buses"September 2, 2007
"It was not as good as Gatwick! I landed late in the evening and wanted to get home as quickly as possible. I went straight to the bus and then read the instructions about leaving only to find I should have validated my ticket at the terminal!
The day before this trip, I had returned from a holiday having pre-booked at Gatwick Parking Express South. There, no validation was required and the system was really impressive. My ticket issued automatically at the barrier was already linked to my booking reference (CCTV ANR?) and on leaving the car park, I simply inserted it in the slot and the barrier opened without any other interaction.
Having left Luton, tired desperate to get home (London), I was soon in a terrible traffic jam on the M1 due to road works (which I believe has been happening every night), which added an HOUR to my journey. Just imagine if I had been advised to take another route to the M25! THAT would have been service!!!"
"I found the long term parking at Luton Airport to be excellent. Even though our use was over the August Bank Holiday weekend, I found a convenient space close to a bus stop and my wait was not very long at all. The return was just as easy with the bus driver being exteremly helpful and couteous."September 1, 2007
"Easy to get in and out. Shuttle bus was frequent enough. No problems."September 1, 2007
"Car park easy to find, large parking area. Buses came regular, 5 min bus ride to terminal. Arrived back at 3am, easy to validate ticket, bus stop outside terminal. Very easy to use."September 1, 2007
"The information on the web site needs updating. It is still given as the NCP car park but has changed to BCP. The layout of info is jumbled and unclear. Many people on the bus had not validated their tickets at the airport. Not many spaces left in the car park. The large stones made wheeling cases impossible."August 31, 2007
"no problems, everything was running smoothly, only waited about 10mins for the bus on arrival back in the uk"August 30, 2007
"This was a fantastic service for us. The car park was very well sign posted. We managed to find a car park space right near the bus stop and the wonderful bus service dropped us right outside the door. Coming back, the getting the tickets authorised is a great idea and would work perfectly if only people would read and not queue for 10 mins in a queue there is no need to be in. Getting back was simple as was getting away from the park itself. It really worked well for us. The price was reasonable as well. I would recommend this service."August 30, 2007
"Easy to locate through the internet, offering a comparitively good cost for a two week long term stay.
Although arriving in the dark in the early hours, the long term car park was easily found and didn't have to wait long for the bus to take us to the terminal.
Upon return, the exit ticket was easily validated, bus was waiting as we exited the terminal and car was found just as we had left it.
Overall a good experience and would definitely use again."
"Car park is a bit out of the way. Service to the airport by bus is quick and regular and I was very impressed, as my battery was flat and a policeman was passing and helped me organise the mechanic's entry to the car park. The exit is a bit confusing if you pay in advance - this could be improved, I feel, in mor explicit instructions. Thankfully there was someone on the gate by coincidence."August 30, 2007
"Very smooth and well operated with polite and helpful personnel. A little difficult to see the exit signs in the dark (we flew in at 22.30)."August 29, 2007
"Easy to find but did not see much evidence of security. Having used BCP at Gatwick for many years i was expecting a similar service but I have to say the bus service from the airport back to the carpark was appalling with only two buses running early afternoon at the height of the summer holiday season. Fortunately it wasn't raining during the 35 minute wait and the car was OK when we eventually got back to it"August 28, 2007
"Booking system simple and effective, staff in Terminal very helpful. Signage in the car park and the road surface/lining could be improved. Courtesy bus had very limited space for luggage resulting in blocked access."August 28, 2007
"all ok exceopt the chaotic return to the car park - not enough buses running, all full to bursting, people trying to get on at the pick up points whilst others trying to get off - a joke. you should have separate buses."August 28, 2007
"The hardcore stones were a bit large - was worried about my tyres. The directions to the payment booth were a little misleading - the arrows pointed out of the terminal. I waited quite a long time for the bus back to the car park. But in general the car park facility was good."August 28, 2007
"I would rate the long term parking with BCP as excellent. From the ease of the booking form to the ticket validation at arrivals. I think it should be printed in bigger letters as I did see people in the parking area that had failed to read their booking receipt properly."August 27, 2007
"The long term NCP car park at Luton airport is very poor. I pre booked and as instructed looked for the NCP desk when I came through customs into the arrivals hall. No sign of it, plenty of car hire desks, costa coffee, Wh Smith but no NCP. I then spotted lots of yellow stickers everywhere saying to pay for car park go outside and use the machine. The machine swallowed my ticket and asked for £90. I pressed the help button and the attendant told me to go to the NCP desk arrivals hall I told him I couldn't see it and he swore at me and hung up. I went back and it is right behind the right hand entrance door to the arrivals hall. Can't be seen from the arrivals hall or the departure entrance. I pointed this out and all I got was a glare and lots or eye rolling. Customer service is nil. Finally got on the bus. At the long term parking lot the exit signs are poor and cars were parked in the cross lanes so if you follow the exit signs you can't get through and have to turn round and try another lane. I wondered if this really was safe for emergency access. All round poor experience."August 27, 2007
"The really irritating thing about the long and medium term car parking at Luton is having to queue to get the ticket endorsed before queuing again for the bus, when all you want to do is climb in your car and drive home. Surely there must be a way of punching the unique reference number into the exit gate at the car park. Apart from this, it all worked like clockwork."August 25, 2007
"On our return, we had to wait in a very long queue for the bus, and it took more than 30 minutes to arrive. There was only room for about half the people who were waiting. Our stop was near the end of the parking lot circuit and the bus collected new passengers for departure at the same time as dropping off the arrivals passengers. This made the bus so crowded with people going to the airport that it was difficult to get off at our stop. If they are going to drop of and collect passengers at the same time, they should have more than one door on the bus. In the end, it took nearly an hour to get from the arrivals lounge to our car which was parked very near the airport. Terrible value for money, and not what we needed at the end of our holiday."August 24, 2007
"Booking the long term car park at Luton Airport made our travel to Italy a lot easier, far less stressful and so expedient. The closeness of the parking to the terminal, good signage, simple easy-to-follow instructions and very helpful staff on the return to Luton made the experience a very pleasant one.We will most certainly be using Luton Airport and your Long Term Car Park facilities for our future trips abroad.... without any doubt. Thank you. Jeff and Sue Pittman"August 24, 2007
"I was very disappointed with this - on both days (arriving and returning) we had to wait ages for a bus. It was 25 minutes on the day we arrived and 40 minutes yesterday. I don't think this is acceptable. I have always used the mid term car park in the past and that has never been a problem. I will be very wary about using the long term one again."August 23, 2007
"All went very smoothly, thank you.
Ticket validation in the arrivals area avoided the regular problem of prepaid parking tickets not being accepted by the machine at the exit barrier!"
"THE INFORMATION THAT WAS SENT VIA THE INTERNET WAS MORE THAN ADEQUATE.
ITS A SHAME THE SAME COULDN'T BE SAID ABOUT THE WEATHER WHEN WE LANDED LAST TUESDAY MORNING AT LUTON AIRPORT."
"Had to hunt for a long time to find a space. Also had to wait a LONG time for the bus in both directions. Directions for the desk in the Arrivals Hall where the ticket had to be validated were rather vague, and it was quite hard to find."August 22, 2007
