"This was the first time I used Purple Car Parking Medium Stay Car Park.
Good Points. Able to book on line and have a guarenteed parking spot.
Charge not to great.
Able to confirm exit at the office as you leave arrivals rather than fiddle about at the exit barrier of the car park.
Bad Points. Having to drive all around the car park to find a parking spot.(Not very good at 5am and its raining.)
A long walk from the car park to the departure terminal not very good again at 5am and raining. (Buses did not appear to be running at this time!!)
Overall I would concider using this car park again."
"Very successful - short walk to the terminal worth the extra couple of pounds. Would have been even easier if the airport had continuous pavement and drop kerbs for this short route! Will use again.
"I used Car Park 2 at East Midlands over 3 days. I found it to be very convenient, easy to find and was able to walk to the terminal. On my return I simply put the car park ticket in the machine, gave my booking reference and details and the man over the intercom arranged for the exit barrier to be lifted. "i booked in advance to park in 2 or 3 but when we arrived i couldnt get in either car park as they were saying they were full.i therefore had to wait for 20 minutes until someone came out of the carpark.by the time we found the space it was raining so fast that we all got wet through getting to the bus stop.when we got to the bus stop there was no buses stopping at that particular stop that day so we had to walk to the departure building,by which time we were soaking wet.so next time i dont think i will park in 2 or 3!"August 18, 2007

"Parking was good but details could have been clearer as to what happened once you got to the airport and how you had to take a ticket to get into the carpark and then get it validated at the ticket office on your return. As it was the first time I had used purple parking and medium term I had to ring once at the airport and check what happened I was worried that having prepaid parking I was going to have to pay again to get out of the carpark or that I had some how parked in the wrong carpark."August 15, 2007
"Excellent location for a quick walk to and from the terminal, with trolleys available at the carpark. However, even though you will have booked and paid for your parking slot, this doesn't meant there will be available space. Therefore you MUST plan into your trip enough time to queue at the barrier and wait for a car to leave in order to free up a space for you (if the carpark happens to be full when you arrive). "unfortunately on our arrival both car parks 2 and 3 were full. We therefore had to return to a security office, where fortunately the mytravel rep (with whom we were not traveling) was able to help us. He suggested we park in any carpark with space.
adding 15mins to our travel time did add to the stress of the journey
"The actual parking arrangements are fine but the transfers to the terminal need sorting out. On arrival, the illuminated signs indicated that car parks 2 adn 3 (which we had booked for) were full. We ignored these and found spaces easily enough. The car park is usefully close to the terminal, which is a good thing becuase the shuttle busses to car parks 2 and 3 are unreliable. On returning to the airport we pushed out own luggage back to the car park and got there well before any sign of the airport bus."August 11, 2007
"Using EMA was indeed a pleasant experience. The carpark being on the airport itself, was good, the terminal only a few minutes away on foot, with no treck on a packed transfer bus required. The only thing that l found confusing was that on arrival, carparks 2/3 were full, even though l had a reservation. I had to speak to control at the entry gate to get entry to the carpark, which was indeed very full. I was unsure what to do when l returned, l spoke to an attendant opposite arrivals, who sorted out my ticket so that it would open the barrier. All that is necessary, is to to provide a card at the barriers to give instuctions to pre-paid visitors. (unless, of course l missed such instructions) For visitors less able than myself, l never saw a transfer bus in operation either on arrival or departure from the airport. But OK, no problems with repeating the exercise."August 11, 2007

"I booked for Carparks 2/3 but both were full & I was forced to park on Carpark 7 (overspill), some way from the Terminal Building. If I had selected Carpark 7 when initially booking I would have saved money. This was therefore not a totally posite experience."July 31, 2007
"First time we had used East Midlands Airport and therefore did not appreciate how close car park 3 was to Ryanair departure terminal as we were confused by lack of courtesy bus.It was pouring with rain when found bus-stop with sign stating services temporarily cancelled so had to walk - just as well it was a short distance and we only had hand luggage otherwise we would not have been impressed.Suggest updates by e-mail in future and clearer signage."July 29, 2007

The whole experience was fine from start to finish, The only problem I had was that the courtesy bus pick up and drop off points were just not identifiable from car park 2 - which is where we were - so we walked!"
"Only a short stoll to the terminal as long as you only have hand baggage. The bus service is frequent if you do have bags. However, signs are confusing as you approach, but drive straight on and don't turn right as indicated on the first signs."July 5, 2007

2. On return to car park 3, when I gave the booking reference, I was told it was not the correct booking reference (despite having the reference to hand from the email received from you) and was questioned about whether I was in the correct car park."

"The directions on the email I printed off were misleading. This sent us to car park 7 which was for long stays. Eventually we found where we should be. As we were only travelling with hand luggage, the short walk was fine and we weren't waiting for anyone else regarding bus services. I have booked through purple parking before for a short break. Last time it was the car park based at Donnington Park. This gave a little more reassurance in terms of the safety of leaving your car. They also had a bus that took you right outside the terminal. I wrongly assumed that this is where we would be parked this time. In future I will certainly use Purple Parking but I will be a little more cautious of which car park is being offered."March 28, 2007
"Directions were great, lots of spaces, however, upon departure we had to use the intercom to get out and the member of staff at the other end took 5 mins to answer. There were at least 4 other cars waiting and each person who used the intercom had the same problem !!!! Hence a 15 min wait to get out !! Apart from that I had a great holiday - thanks !!! "Not a great experience. I booked car parks 2/3 but the confirmation email said car park 7, though gave directions to 2/3. So I arrived at 2 to be told it was full and would have to park at 1 (closer to the airport, which was good) at no extra charge. I parked at one accordingly, but upon leaving the car park, my booking no. could not be found by the operator for several minutes as "we'd parked in the wrong car park". Their systems need sorting.
