"If you are thinking of using Birmingham Airport car parks I would urge you to think very carefully !. We used car park 5 during a recent skiing holiday. On our return we discovered that the spare wheel had been stolen ( we have a 4 x 4 type vehicle where the spare is stored underneath the vehicle ).
Birmingham airport car parking advertise on their website - "Park Mark Safer Parking accredited" & "CCTV and regular security patrols".
However, when we complained & after reporting the crime to the police,this has been their response..
"I was concerned to learn of the theft of your spare wheel.
We do sympathise with your situation and regret that your vehicle was the victim of crime whilst within our car park; however we cannot accept liability for the incident as outlined in our terms and conditions. As the car park is open to the general public, we do not and cannot offer a guarantee of secure parking.

2. Our liability to you
2.1 We must operate the Car Park with reasonable skill and care (“our obligations”). If we do not, we are only responsible for direct loss or damage you suffer as a foreseeable result of our breach of our obligations or our negligence or the negligence of our employees.
2.2 We do not exclude or limit in any way our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or the negligence of our employees, agents or subcontractors.
2.3 Although we owe you the obligations set out at clauses 2.1 and 2.2 above, you should be aware that the Car Park is open to the general public. We cannot guarantee that members of the general public will not enter our Car Park and cause damage to property and/or engage in criminal activity. Accordingly, you park your vehicle in the Car Park at your own risk. We cannot and do not guarantee the security of your vehicle and/or its contents.
No mention of having looked at the security camera footage. They are obviously so concerned that they can't even be bothered !!
So for anyone else thinking of using their car parks be aware of the above... it may cost you more than you think! In our case in excess of £200 to replace the spare wheel & tyre!!
Lesson learned, I suppose I should have read the small print :(

"Excellent outward trip, bus arrived within 3 mins of parking, full bus but all got on.
Return trip not so good, long wait for bus which overfilled when luggage included.
Supervision/conductor needed to load bus and advise of next bus due to alleviate overcrowding especially at busy periods."

"this car park is close enough to walk to terminal, if not raining. However suggest you make a note of where your car is as it is a big park. Only slight delay on leaving as the ticket I pre booked with was rejected. Quick call to confirm my ID and the barrier was raised. Nice to know there is a check in place even tho' there was a little queue behind me, sorry to those people. Nothing more to say, booked, turned up, went away and came back, drove home. all at a lot lower price than other offers!!

"Birmingham Airport is excellent, modern and compact. So car park 5 is a close walk - just what you need after a 4 hour flight. Had it been pouring there is a bus. Booking was simple and getting in and out trouble free. Our flight was delayed 3 hours but there was no surcharge.
All in all, about as good as you can expect."

"Sadly we were unable to use the Airport parking shop place we had booked because I was unable to drive due to a sprained wrist, and the booking was not cancellable. "Pre-booked. Drove to the post-code - not car park 5! Three times round airport approach to locate it. A breeze from there. Camera recognition of car (record to counter any damage claims?) and ticket issue and through barrier to find a space. Note row number and transfer bus stop number to find the car when leaving. Transfer bus frequent, about ten minutes between.
Leaving simpler. Transfer bus from outside Arrivals, the bus stop clearly marked with car park number. Driver very clear about which stop to alight, identifying each as the bus approached them.
Locate the car, drive to the clearly marked exit and put the ticket into the machine. Barrier lifts and drive away. Assistance by voice communicator if required. Will your car start after standing so long?"
